Advantages And Disadvantages Of Aluminum Alloy

Mar 14, 2022

(1) The non-magnetic properties of aluminum alloys make them suitable for special electrical equipment.

(2) Non-toxicity and recyclability of aluminum alloys.

(3) The aluminum alloy is light in weight, corrosion-resistant, and has good processing and forming.

(4) Aluminum alloy has good thermal conductivity and electrical conductivity.

Disadvantages of aluminum alloy:

(1) The elastic modulus of aluminum alloy is relatively poor, only one third of that of steel.

(2) The electronic potential of aluminum alloy is extremely negative, and when it is in contact with other dissimilar metals, it is easy to cause serious galvanic corrosion as an anode.

(3) Aluminum alloy has low hardness and poor wear resistance.

(4) The melting point of aluminum alloy is low, and the use of high temperature is limited.
